If you want to know the real history of Bonita Springs, join us for Pioneer Saturdays at the Historic McSwain Home.
Every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, our volunteer docents—featuring Byron, the great-grandson of the McSwain family who settled here in 1901—will share stories you won’t find in any book.
The McSwain Family – Hear about their journey to Bonita Springs, their 1915 home, and the unique history that shaped this property.
The Liles Family – Discover the story of JW Liles, who arrived in 1897, built the Liles Hotel, and owned an artifact now in the Smithsonian Institute.
Treasures & Photos – View rare photographs of Bonita’s pioneer families and see antiques donated to the McSwain Home, now the headquarters for the Bonita Springs Historical Society.
